Brussels, Lithographie Belge de H. Delpierre, 1828. In 2nd oblong. Engraved title page, table of engravings and 75 engravings by P. J. Witdoeck, of which 8 color plates (28,41, 61-66), slight foxing, some paper with light browning, contemporary leather binding, gold and dry impressions on the plates , title stamped in gold on the spine with 6 bands, slight defects.

Original edition. Beautiful album which includes 75 tables of views, architecture, coins and a map of Rhodes engraved by by H. Delpierre based on drawings by P.J. Witdoeck, of which 8 with period coloring. Colonel Rottiers, who lived between 1771 and 1857, was the protagonist of multiple archaeological expeditions in Greece, collaborating closely with the Dutch authorities. The precious relics he brought back enriched and made an important contribution to the collections of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden.
