Specialist Notes

A PERFECT AND EXCELLENT copy of the first edition of one of the most beautiful illustrated books of the 18th century, with plates drawn by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta and engraved by Polanzani. Our copy can be traced back to variant B (Radaeli) due to the portrait of the dedicatee, the young Maria Theresa, the dedications at the foot of the 20 large plates, and the Rococo brackets at the base of the endcaps.
