Paris, Deroy, 1796. In 4th. 256 x 195mm. Engraved and colored title page, 50 plates engraved with aquatint hors texte by Grasset de Saint-Sauveur from Labrousse, colored at the time, blond calfskin binding with gold decorations on the plates and spine. Ex libris on the cover of the famous doctor Jacques Coster (1795-1868).
Specialist Notes
FIRST EDITION, in a beautiful copy WITH COLOR PLATES. Colas mentions that the plates exist in both black and color. Grasset de Saint-Sauveur, draftsman and watercolourist, was also a diplomat and writer.
