Specialist Notes
Incipit: Verbum supernum prodiens... It is a liturgical hymn written by Thomas Aquinas for the morning lauds of the feast of Corpus Christi.
A note on the backplate declares the origin of the codex perhaps from Ferrara, for a final destination which should have been Piacenza. A beautiful manuscript testimony to the ancient tradition of antiphonaries, chorales and hymnbooks used for centuries by the Church during solemn celebrations.
