Venice, Giacomo Penzio [for Benedetto Fontana], 1508. In 8°. Two tears in the upper margin of leaves a6 and b6 with the loss of some small letters, otherwise an excellent copy in its 17th-century hard parchment binding with title on the spine.
Specialist Notes
Alberto da Castello had this small volume of patrology printed in January 1508 by a new Venetian publisher, Benedetto Fontana, and through the work of the typographer Giacomo Penzio da Lecco. The volume contains the Sermones of Saint Zeno, bishop of Verona, transcribed by Guarino, in the first edition , together with texts by Cesario d'Arles, various sermons on the Virgin and a homily by Origen.
