Specialist Notes

Ramón Gómez de la Serna (1888-1963), one of the most original figures in twentieth-century Spanish literature, was an author, essayist, and cultural activist associated with the European avant-garde. Creator of the famous "greguería," a short form of poetic and visionary aphorism, he exerted a profound influence on Iberian literary modernity. His vast output includes novels, prose, biographies, and plays characterized by an experimental, ironic, and highly innovative style.
