Information
Two distinctive late-19th-century albums of views of Rome: one containing 20 albumen prints, the other 29 albumen prints. The first, titled "A Views in Rome, Oct. 1872," focuses primarily on "Views in the Gesù Quadrangle"; the second depicts the principal monuments of classical and Christian Rome. External dimensions of the albums: 162 x 245 mm, with the photographs mounted on individual sheets of each album. Stapleton-Bretherton family bookplate on the inside cover.
