Chromolithograph advertising poster for PAGLIERI perfumes and face powders, signed by the great illustrator and graphic artist GINO BOCCASILE (Bari 1901 – Milan 1952),
It features the slogan "FROM FLOWERS TO POWDER, PERFUMES AND STRAWS" signed by Boccasile. Authorized by the Alessandria Police Headquarters in 1950.
In its original contemporary frame, the poster measures approximately 310x380 mm Gino Boccasile was the greatest Italian illustrator and advertising designer of the first half of the twentieth century. Trained in Milan, he became famous for his creation of the "Signorina Grandi Firme" – the typical elegant and sensual female figure that dominated magazine covers and advertising posters of the 1930s and 1940s.
He collaborated with the most important Italian companies (Pirelli, Motta, Campari, Paglieri) and with the magazine "Le Grandi Firme." Paglieri of Alessandria (founded in 1875) is still one of the oldest Italian perfume and cosmetics houses.
