Information
A copy of “The Uncanny X-Men #217” (1987) graded by CGC (8.0) and signed by Walt Simonson and Bob Wiacek. Published in 1987, The Uncanny X-Men #217 (titled "Bright Lights, Big City") was a popular issue with readers for its lighter, character-focused tone, set during a time of heightened tension for mutantkind. The story takes place in Edinburgh, Scotland. The protagonists are Rogue and Dazzler (Alison Blaire), who was the newest addition to the group at the time. Tensions exist between the two: Rogue is jealous of Alison's pop star past, while Dazzler struggles to adapt to the harsh, clandestine life of the X-Men. While wandering around the city, the two accidentally stumble upon Cain Marko (Juggernaut), who is enjoying a vacation in civilian clothes. What begins as Rogue's attempt to "do the right thing" by capturing a criminal escalates into a massive brawl that demolishes part of the city, showing how difficult it is for mutants to separate their personal lives from their roles as heroes.
