Juan Sebastián Verón, nicknamed "La Brujita," was the brains and technical soul of the most successful Lazio team ever, a player capable of combining a celestial vision with a typically South American competitive spirit. Arriving in Rome in 1999, he immediately became the fulcrum of Sven-Göran Eriksson's midfield, orchestrating moves with pinpoint passes and launching his teammates towards goal with disarming ease. His tactical intelligence and charismatic personality were crucial to winning the historic Scudetto in 2000, a triumph that came at the end of a legendary comeback that saw him as the undisputed protagonist.
