Auction details
From Venetian art, represented by extraordinary examples of cabinet-making, to a precious collection of antique glazed Persian ceramics, the journey winds its way through the finest examples of Italian decorative arts: from the masterpieces of the Ginori and Castelli workshops to the refined creations of the Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea in Naples, right through to the astonishing works of the Tipa workshop in Trapani.
The exhibition also looks further afield, featuring sumptuous French clocks and important examples from the Meissen manufactory, amongst which a rare complete ‘monkey orchestra’ and a precious plate from 1730–1735 stand out, decorated with the ‘Indianische Blumen’ motif in the distinctive variant known as ‘a salami’.
