For a comparison, see the terracotta Madonna and Child by Bartolomeo Bellano, housed in the Szépművészeti Múzeum, Budapest. Bellano (ca. 1434–1496/97) was originally from Padua, where he is believed to have been part of Donatello's Paduan workshop. He followed Donatello to Florence, where he collaborated on the reliefs for the pulpits of San Lorenzo, the master's late works.
