For the present painting, an attribution to Johann Baptist Drechsler (Vienna 1756-1811) has been put forward on stylistic grounds, and in addition to this refined Austrian master, specialized in still lifes, the name of his pupil Franz Xaver Patter (1791 - Vienna 1866) has also been proposed on stylistic grounds.
