In the provenance's collection the paintings were traditionally attributed to Giuseppe Nogari.
Another version of the Boy with a Basket of Fruit, preserved at the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, is today ascribed to Nogari but was previously attributed to Piazzetta.
