Round, rifled, 12.5 mm cal. barrel octagonal at the base, numbered "MA 4xx", marked with marks of the Liege test bench, crossed keys and tiara, and with other marks, then markings "PIO NONO", "....ORICI FIDELES" (not entirely legible) and date "1869", after the foldaway and adjustable rear sight, foresight and clutch for the bayonet. Rolling block frame with same serial number and markings "BREVET REMINGTON 8523", "EM& L NAGANT A LIEGE", "V", “S” under crown and other marks, upper tang marked "DAMES DE LA RETRAITE VITRE". Wooden butt and fore-end. Iron mounts with marks. Butt-plate stamped with a French papal artillery committee mark. Iron ramrod. Yatagan bayonet (length 69.27 cm) with brass grip, iron scabbard and leather belt frog (for hanging on the Zouave belt).
