Well-made, full-round, made of walnut wood, using a mixed technique of sculpture and assemblage. Probably depicting two guards in seventeenth-century robes, with morion-crowned heads, broad-brimmed collars, armour bust, gloves, wide trousers tied at the knee. Both originally provided with a ramrod weapon (no longer present). A few small missing parts to the wood. Folk art. Probably Austrian or South Tyrol.
