Frank Rijkaard's autographed card in an Ajax shirt, released by Panini as part of the 2023 Panini Obsidian series. Numbered out of 7. Frank Rijkaard is a legendary figure both for Ajax and for world football. During his first stint with Ajax (1980–1987), Rijkaard contributed significantly to a talented team that also included players such as Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten. During this period, Ajax won several domestic titles. After a stint at AC Milan, where he won numerous trophies, Rijkaard returned to Ajax in the 1993–1994 season. This return was significant because it coincided with a highly successful period for the club under Louis van Gaal. Along with a new generation of talents like Clarence Seedorf, Edgar Davids, and Patrick Kluivert, Rijkaard provided experience and leadership to a team that would dominate European football. The highlight of this second stint at Ajax was winning the Champions League in the 1994-95 season.
