A beautiful limited-edition copy printed by Stamperia Valdonega of Verona on handmade paper by the Magnani Brothers of Pescia. The color woodcuts that embellish the work were undoubtedly Dalí's most important illustrative work. The iconographic apparatus consists of 100 plates, measuring 355 x 280 mm. It took five years of work, from 1960 to 1964, to engrave the 3,500 woodcuts to progressively imprint the 35 colors of each plate. The woodcut work was carried out by Master Raymond Jacquet under the direct supervision of Salvador Dalí, who poured the most significant motifs of his metaphysical and mystical research into illustrating the Divine Comedy.
