Specialist Notes
"Marcello Adriani the Younger, who translated Plutarch's Opuscules Morali into vernacular towards the end of the 16th century, held a chair of humanities in Florence. (...) This translation of his earned the praise of everyone who had it in his hands, for the felicity and accuracy with which the original was turned, for the purity of the dictation, and for the noble and elegant simplicity of his frank and naive style. (...)" (from the Letter to the Courteous Reader, p.7).
