In-folio; full-page engraving on the frontispiece and numerous and very precious copperplate engravings, including a vignette on the frontispiece illustrating the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam, headpieces, initials, tailpieces and beautiful engravings illustrating medals and coins in the text and ft; modern binding in full light leather, spine with six raised bands, with seven boxes finely decorated with floral engravings in gold, author and title in gilt letters on a darker leather insert, non-original white endpapers; initial dedication to Moinsegneur Le Marquis de Seignelay Coinseiller du Roy signed by the author Pierre Bizot (1630-1696); Slight browning, some damp stains especially near the spine of the first and last quires of the work, slight cut on p. 182 not affecting the text.
