Turin, Stamperia Reale, 1744. In 8°. Savoy coat of arms engraved in wood on the title page, two beautiful military engravings in the text and 11 folded plates finely engraved by Marcantonio Dal Re, depicting examples of fortifications, military constructions and infantry and cavalry camps, small ink stain on the title page, very rare light foxing and reddening, contemporary leather binding, gilt title within a tag on the spine, peeling, minor defects.

First edition. A treatise written by Robilant, a Piedmontese nobleman, divided into two parts, covering the construction techniques and architecture of military fortresses, as well as the army's offensive and defensive maneuvers, convoy attacks, ambushes, rural guerrilla warfare, and the treatment of prisoners of war.
