In-8°; 3 volumes bound in 2 vols.; contemporary half-moon leather binding with title, fillets and decorations in gold on the smooth spine; marbled boards; edges coloured with green spray; pp. XV, (1 b.), 352, (2), 11 c. of folding plates; 296, 6 c. of folding plates; 406, [ie 386, due to numbering errors: p. 149 should be 129], 10 c. of folding plates; on the first vol. a calc. antip. with a portrait of the author drawn by G. d'Errico and engraved by P. Toro; this example is bound without the last p. of the index of the third volume (pp. 405 and 406); The large plates depict medical equipment, bandages, and instruments in general. Light foxing and browning, and some signs of use and peeling on the plates; the work is in very good overall condition. § Together in the lot: Lawrence W., Treatise on Hernias containing the anatomical description, symptoms, progress, and treatment of such diseases, according to the teachings and discoveries of Cooper, Scarpa, Hey, Travers, and others by W. Lawrence [...], Milan, at Paolo Emilio Giusti, 1820. in-12° (182x104 mm), contemporary half-leather binding with marbled paper on the plates, gilt title on a leather label on the spine, red edges; 2 vols.; Two folded plates. Plates engraved by G. Cagnoni. Traces of use on the binding (heavy abrasions to the paper and leather, missing a portion of the spine in the second volume). Light foxing on the leaves and occasional stains. Overall, a good copy.
