Paris, Librairie de Firmin-Didot, 1888. 6 vols. In 2nd, 406 x 298 mm. FIRST EDITION, 500 plates, most of which are chromolithographs with gold and silver highlights, and colored lithographs, coeval binding in half blue morocco and marbled cardboard, slight reddening.

Specialist Notes

The most famous costume book of the nineteenth century and the first fashion book to use color lithography.
