Rare first edition. It condenses all the knowledge of time on clocks, divided into four parts: in the first part those operated by water are treated, in the second with the earth, in the third with the air, in the fourth with fire. More ingenious than useful, are the ways proposed by the author. to obtain the different species of hourglass and clocks he imagined: and I believe that such devices could not practically be applied with favorable results». Table no. XII shows the section of the clock tower of Piazza S. Marco in Venice.
