Frontispiece printed in red and black, with 20 double-page "fold out" plates, in two states, one in black and white and one in color by Eugène Courboinc with 18 reproductions of engravings, 2 of which are double-page, editorial paperback illustrated in color Preserved in coeval binding in red Moroccan half and marbled paper, back with 5 nerves with author and title compartments and an iron depicting a locomotive, all stamped in gold, slight stains and abrasions. Ownership note on the guard sheet.
