Paris, Charles Bosse, 1901. In the great 8th. Portrait of the author on the front door, illustration on the title page in red and black 32 illustrations in the text by Paul Avril etched each protected by tissue paper, preserved the editorial paperback printed in an elegant binding of the period in red morocco, with a stylized plate engraved in gold in the center of the plates, on the spine decorated in gold, author and title, marbled hardcover case.

Refined French illustrated book in a limited edition of 400 copies. ours is no. 178 (of 200), drawn up on Whatman paper with double suite of etchings.
