Milan, Gio. Battista Bidelli, 1645. In 2 °. & Nbsp; Chalcographic antiport with the heraldic crest of the & nbsp; Visconti & nbsp; flanked by tritons and chalcographic portrait of Mons. Honorato & nbsp; Visconti & nbsp; dedicatee of the work on the verso of the frontispiece engraved by Bianchi, 13 portraits engraved in full-page copper (the last repeated twice), initials, headboards and woodcut ends, marginal restorations to the first two cc., Linked with: Antonio Campo . & nbsp; Historia & nbsp; of the lives of the dukes and duchesses of Milan with their real portraits taken naturally . Milan, Filippo Ghisolfi, 1642. & nbsp; Frontispiece framed by a woodcut frame and decorated with a small frieze engraved in wood, 24 large portraits in an oval medallion engraved on copper depicting the dukes and duchesses of Milan, restoration of the lower margin of the last 8 papers with some loss of text, binding in half leather and cardboard from the 19th century. & nbsp;

Specialist Notes

I OPERA: Second edition of the Lives of the Visconti & nbsp; by Giovio, in the Italian translation by Lodovico Domenichi; the first was published in Venice in 1558.
II OPERA: The work was born as & nbsp; fourth book & nbsp; and second part of the text of the Field, & nbsp; Cremona fidelissima citta et nobilissima colonia de Romani. .. & nbsp; In Milan: In the House of Gio. Battista Bidelli, 1645; this short collection of biographies and portraits of the dukes and duchesses of Milan, however, has its own title page and is typographically autonomous, therefore it also had an independent circulation.
