Turquoise background with raised rocaille profiles and reserves, gilded with floral motifs. The rim is decorated in polychrome with bunches of flowers within corner reserves, and the base features cherubs playing music on clouds. Manufacturer's mark on the back restorations

Specialist Notes

The cherub decoration is taken from an engraving by Louis-Félix de La Rue (France, 1731-1765?) from François Boucher (France, 1703-1770), La Musique , engraving, New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Harris Brisbane Dick Fund (53.600.1079)
