height 29.5 cm.
Heavy skull worked in two parts, with medium-height comb squared at the top and fitted with iron rivets featuring star-shaped heads. Rear iron plume-holder with cartouche (missing part) and an old repair. Pivoted visor with matching comb, attached to the bowl by two small rosettes with star-headed rivets; edged with a fine outline and a blow mark to the left side. Anatomical ventail attached to the visor by two rivets, with two large eye-slots featuring raised rims and four ventilation holes per side at mouth level, each with raised borders; circular hole on the right for the retaining pin. Two-piece cheek-guards with pierced ear sections, each fitted with a gorget plate having a moulded upper edge and a lower rim bordered with star-headed rivets and a turned cord pattern; retaining hook. Neck-guard plate worked en suite. The entire surface finished in black, lightly refreshed, both internally and externally. Very rare. The cheekpiece fastening appears to have been modified during its period of use. Weight 7.7 kg.
