Straight, single-and short false-edged blade, flat at the forte, then with a central fuller and a double fuller toward the weak. The forte engraved with scrolls, bearing the motto “Viva Carlo Alberto,” and on the reverse “Viva l’Italia.” Bright metal hilt with a Savoy coat of arms in silvered metal on the front valve; parry quillon ending in a serpent’s head holding a sphere in its mouth. Sheet-metal grip imitating the wire binding. Broad guard with finger ring. Blackened iron scabbard (refreshed, small missing parts), fitted with two rings, bands, and brass mounts.
