length 108,5 cm.
French-style, single-and false-edged blade used by cuirassiers or heavy cavalry, featuring a double full-length fuller. Decorated on the forte with remains of bluing and small engravings of trophies and flowers. Also featuring an anthropomorphic effigy of the sun and the motto ‘vive Napoleon / l'Emp. de France’ surrounding the crowned eagle. The engravings have substantial remains of gilding. Austrian-style iron mounts with elliptical pommel and stirrup guard, long smooth cap and brown leather-covered grip. Also present (but damaged) is the leather grip strap. Elliptical button on the cap. Without scabbard.
