Iron skull with curved peak, decorated with engraved geometric motifs alternating with others featuring medallions and trophies; also engraved at the base featuring holes for rivets, now almost completely missing. Small sloping brim, also engraved, with smooth upturned border and brass-headed rivets. The interior is painted black. There is a large hole at the back, probably made at a later date to hang it in an armoury. Featuring the crowned mark of the “Armi Barberini” (Samnite shield crowned and charged with three bees) on the back side.
