length 36.5 cm.
Solid, smoothbore, octagonal, damascened, 12 mm cal barrel; breech engraved with rear sight followed by the signature “BURNAND NEWCASTLE”; silver front sight; engraved, browned tang. Front-action percussion lock signed “BURNAND,” finely engraved with floral motifs, retaining traces of browning, provided with a secure lock, and with the nipple bolster decorated with a silver flower. Three-quarter wooden stock with chequered grip and horn fore-end cap. Browned iron mounts engraved en suite; butt-plate and drum. Horn-tipped wooden ramrod with brass and iron cartridge extractor.
