Giappone
height 27 cm.
Iron frame coated externally in brown lacquer. Both featuring a gold-coloured Makie effigy of a Shishi (A-un-shishi) on the front. Mon-ita decorated with openwork cherry blossoms and horosuke-ana. The edge is decorated with mother-of-pearl flakes. Red-lacquered treads. Condition between good and fair: signs of wear and age, some missing parts on the finishes.

Specialist Notes

Together with an NKBKHK certificate dating them to the mid Edo period and classifying them as “Kicho-Shiryo” (important armour accessory).
