Complete set of 15 characters from the tale of Pinocchio (Collodi), hand-carved and hand-painted in wood, many with articulated joints and heads. Original collection, published by MARZOCCO of Florence in 1955, complete with wooden box and lithographed card depicting the famous puppet as designed by Attilio Mussino. Characters vary in size, from 3cm to 8cm. Box measures approximately 20x25cm.
The following are Pinocchio the wooden block, Pinocchio the puppet, Pinocchio the puppet with donkey ears, Pinocchio the donkey (missing one ear), Geppetto, the Blue Fairy, the Fire Eater, the Policeman, the Cat, the Fox, the Cat dressed as a murderer, the Fox dressed as a murderer, the Talking Cricket (missing a leg), the snail, and Melampo.
Lot in excellent condition.
