Unpublished original cover made by Magnus in 1976 for "Il castellano sparviero," the second episode of La Compagnia della Forca (The Company of the Forks). Unlike all the covers in this series, which were done in acrylics on tracing paper, Magnus initially decided to use tempera (reminiscent of his time at Malipiero), thus creating a much more complex and artistically superior work. Probably due to the speed of execution required, Magnus abandoned this technique and redesigned the cover to match the others. On the back is the first version of the title "Il Castellano della Nera Montagna" and the Magnus & Romanini copyright stamp. Extremely rare. Signed and dated.
