Peering into that creative dimension that precedes the realisation of a photographic work is like listening to the rehearsal of an orchestra before it plays its final version. Consisting of drawings, large coloured letters stamped one per page to form the word ASPESI and thirty rehearsal Polaroids, this small album was made by the great photographer Robert Frank, author of one of the most radical books on American civilisation, 'The Americans'. Made in 1995 as a maquette, it anticipates the volume "Ideas" published three years later, which will collect, divided into three sections corresponding to as many campaigns, the photographs taken by the photographer for the menswear company Aspesi. An important document of Robert Frank's work in the field of fashion.
