For its composition, and in particular the pose of the woman's legs, this work can be related to the marble Risveglio/Nudo di donna of 1911, which was presented in the same year at the International Exhibition in Rome and earned the artist the prize for Italian sculpture on a par with Rembrandt Bugatti.
