Various versions of the painting are known, the prototype of which is identified with the one now conserved in Fano (at the Civic Museum and Pinacoteca del Palazzo Malatestiano ) and, most likely, created and sent by the painter to the same municipality in 1726, as a sign of gratitude for the honorary citizenship conferred on him.
