Information
Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver are the two titles that introduced the second generation and revolutionized the series by introducing the day/night cycle, the Johto region, and the return to Kanto in the post-game. The Japanese cartridges are clearly distinguished from the Western versions by the back of the case: the plastic back is a dark metallic gray (reminiscent of stardust), a unique aesthetic detail that makes them beautiful to display and collect.
