Refined and rare commercial advertising globe of the " NORDDEUTSCHER LLOYD BREMEN WELTVERKEHRS-GLOBUS " made for the German shipping company as a tool for promoting its routes.
world maritime, personalized for the agency in ROME Via del Tritone 145-146-147 as evidenced by the fire engraving on the base.

Original from the period 1900-1914 (before the company headquarters were damaged by the interventionist nationalist movements)

Mounted on a lacquered dark wood stand (ebony or mahogany) in the Art Deco style, with a stepped square base and arched support that holds the globe via a brass metal pin. The polished brass meridian circle is engraved with the inscription: "NORDDEUTSCHER LLOYD BREMEN WELTVERKEHRS GLOBUS".
The surface of the globe shows a chromolithograph map of the world with continents, oceans and ROUTES
MARITTIME of the NDL company traced in red/orange lines on the surface.

It measures approximately 105cm in total height, the base is approximately 46x55cm, and the globe has an approximate diameter of 50cm
In good condition, paper with minor conservation interventions, very rare

NORDDEUTSCHER LLOYD (NDL) was founded in Bremen in 1857 and was one of the most important and prestigious German shipping companies, operating transatlantic routes to North and South America, the Far East, Australia , and Africa. Its luxury steamships (including the legendary "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse," the first four-funnel ocean liner) were symbols of German naval power. The shipping globe was displayed in the company's offices, travel agencies, and in the first-class lounges of ships.
