The Cosmic Reflections series is one of the most significant in Elica Balla's oeuvre. Always fascinated by the cosmos and astronomy, as well as the effects of light, the artist began to dedicate herself to it while her father was still alive. Like her, over the years he had explored the theme of light and light refraction from various perspectives, to the point of naming one of his daughters Luce. Elica Balla explores it in a realistic yet somehow transfigured way: the choice of black cardboard makes the flower petals vibrate with a brilliant light that seems to come from space rather than earth, a light made visible by the pastel filaments exploding in the background.Contact
