The Rare Books, Autographs and Early Printed Books Department finds its roots in the decennial experience of Fabio Massimo Bertolo and Silvia Ferrini, specialists in the field for many years, with an extensive knowledge of national and international market.
Sales would include all bibliophile areas: from incunabula to Modern editions, from illuminated manuscripts to illustrated books produced in various centuries, from local history to the masterpieces of national typography, notwithstanding ancient and early modern printed books, atlases and cartography. A constant presence will be that of manuscripts and autographs of all periods and genres, alongside historically and culturally-relevant archives, funds and epistolary collections.
In parallel to regular auction sales, the department will follow Private Transactions – on private and institutional clients’ request – of single works and entire collections. Estimates are always free of charge and are offered with the utmost discretion. For inheritance and/or insurance purposes, fee-based expertise and estimates are produced. Our specialists are registered as Experts in the Camera di Commercio.
The department is available to clients, sellers and buyers to offer advice and estimates. Our specialists are available for free valuations of single items and entire collections of rare books and libraries, for auction sales in Rome, and expertise for insurance or inheritance purposes.
