[Impressed in Florence: for the heirs of Philippo di Giunta, 1529]. In 8th. Printer's mark on the title page, missing from the lower external corner of the first issue, small defects in correspondence with the stamp on the title page, small cut without loss on the margin of some issues, slight and rare redness and foxing, last issue loose, contemporary parchment binding, Handwritten title on the cover and spine, traces of laces, some small defects, slightly loose. Two vanishing membership stamps on the title page.
Specialist Notes
Second edition of Niccolò Machiavelli's treatise on military strategy, first published in 1521 and written between 1519-1520. The work is dedicated to Lorenzo di Filippo Strozzi and is divided into seven books composed of a series of dialogues between Cosimo Rucellai, a friend of Machiavelli who died prematurely, and Fabrizio Colonna, together with other patricians and members of the recent Florentine Republic.
