Information
Rome, at Giacomo Antonelli, 1830. In-folio, oblong, original half-vellum binding with corners, marbled paper on the covers, impressed and gilded decorations on the parchment, title "Vedute di Roma" in gilt letters on a leather label on the front cover; 55 plates + 1 (original cover on blue paper) engraved in copper; the title appears on the cover plate, like that on the title page, but with the date 1830. Plates 2 to 50 are numbered at the top right, the first and last five are unnumbered, the engravings measure 230 x 314 mm and bear the title and printer's name underneath, in Italian and French, the names of the artist and engraver, and some also bear the date of engraving. Some plates were drawn by Giacomo Fontana, Luigi Magozzi, and GF Perrj. The engravers, in addition to those listed in the title, include plates by Gio. Acquaroni, A. Mochetti, and Giovanni Olivieri. Signs of use on the binding (scuffing on the leaves, fading of the gilding, noticeable crease at the top corner of the front cover). The plates have occasional foxing and browning on the front edges, but are otherwise in near-excellent condition.
