Specialist Notes
The Cultivation of the Alamanni, in six books of loose hendecasyllables, was his best-known work, and is considered a model of elegance and classicistic decorum for the writers of the 1700s. The present edition, beautiful and accurate, is printed on strong paper and embellished with the beautiful intaglio portrait of the author and the graceful woodcut decorations. Gamba, 18: "rare... highly prized edition".
