Extremely rare bronze bas-relief plaque, mounted on a wooden base, probably commemorating the proclamation of Rome as the capital of the Fascist Empire, signed MONTEMURRO
The relief depicts a nude male figure, wearing a Roman helmet, intent on carving the name ROME on a marble cippus, surmounted by a fascist imperial eagle, next to the Pantheon in Rome, and in the background at the bottom right the silhouette of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
