Black and white photograph of Benito Mussolini in full uniform, with his autograph signature in black ink " BMussolini "
Portrayed in full dress uniform with a fez and aigrette, and wearing the Grand Collar of the Santissima Annunziata, the Duce had a dressing on his nose, having survived the assassination attempt of April 7, 1926, when he was wounded by a gunshot fired by the Irish woman Violet Gibson. The attack occurred in front of the Capitoline Hill, and the bullet grazed the Duce, wounding him. Photographs of him with a dressing on his nose are rare.
The signature "BMussolini" is consistent with the type of signatures that changed over the years, from the extended Benito Mussolini of the early years, to just Mussolini.
It measures approximately 280x440mm, in excellent condition
