“Copy of Daredevil #227” (1986) graded by CGC (7.0) and signed by Frank Miller. Published in 1986, Daredevil #227 (titled "Apocalypse") marks the legendary return of Frank Miller to writing the character, supported by art by David Mazzucchelli. This issue inaugurates the famous "Born Again" saga, considered one of the greatest masterpieces of comics worldwide. Here are the key points of this fundamental issue: • The betrayal: Karen Page, Matt Murdock's former secretary and partner, now reduced to drug addiction, sells Daredevil's secret identity for a dose of heroin. • The Kingpin's web: The information reaches Wilson Fisk (Kingpin), who does not immediately kill his enemy, but decides to methodically destroy his life. Through his influence, the Kingpin freezes Matt's bank accounts, causes him to lose his home, and frames him for perjury, driving him to ruin and madness. • The dramatic finale: The issue ends with the explosion of Matt's apartment. Standing before the rubble, Murdock realizes that the hand of the "King of Crime" is behind all his recent misfortunes. The issue won the 1986 Kirby Award for Best Single Issue. It represents a total deconstruction of the hero, laying the foundation for a story of fall and subsequent spiritual and physical resurrection.
