Information

A copy of “Daredevil #186” (1982) graded by CGC (9.4) and signed by Frank Miller. Daredevil #186, published in September 1982, represents one of the most unusual and entertaining chapters in the legendary run of Frank Miller (script and pencils) and Klaus Janson (inks and colors). The issue is famous for its “comedy of errors” tone, which is unusual for Miller’s normally dark, noirish style. At the center of the story is the inept criminal Turk Barrett, who steals the Stilt-Man armor from Wilbur Day in an attempt to impress the Kingpin. In one iconic scene, Turk shows up at Wilson Fisk’s window offering himself as his new assassin, but is brutally rebuffed by the Kingpin, who refuses to hire an “idiot,” no matter how many weapons he possesses. As he confronts the clumsy Stilt-Man, Matt must manage his hypersenses, which are beginning to show signs of imbalance. On a personal level, the narrative explores his darker, more manipulative side as he pressures Heather Glenn to accept his marriage proposal. While less dramatic than episodes like Elektra's death, the episode demonstrates Miller's versatility in blending action, psychological drama, and satire of superhero tropes.
